What a wonderful afternoon

Our residents and staff at Orchard House enjoyed a lively afternoon of singing, dancing and plenty of smiles with the talented Hannah, alongside our new Activities Coordinator, Angela.

The tambourines were definitely a big hit, with lots of residents joining in, keeping the rhythm and enjoying the music together. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, from singing along to tapping their feet, clapping and sharing a few dances too.

A big thank you to Hannah for bringing such lovely energy to the home, and to Angela for helping make the afternoon so enjoyable. Moments like these really do bring everyone together, and it was lovely to see the room filled with music, laughter and happiness.

We’re already looking forward to many more afternoons like this.

All in a day…….

There’s often a misconception about care homes that residents sit around all day, bored and with nothing to do. We would like to lay that to rest. The Ruddington is a constant hive of activity. Yesterday was a good example – a morning Church Service, followed by hairdressing for everyone who wanted it, and then another great entertainment session in the afternoon from fabulous local entertainers Kevin and Marie. So something for the spirit, something for the body, and something for the soul. No wonder everyone was tired by the end of the day…and that’s just our lovely staff team!

Artful Creations……

Residents at The Ruddington indulged their creative sides yesterday afternoon, with a session of colouring. There were some beautiful pictures created during the afternoon, and the session as a whole was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Great for engagement and fine motor skills, our arts and crafts activities are always well supported and enjoyed.

Looking good!….

Many of our residents at The Ruddington like their nails to look their best at all times. Which is why we have regular pampering sessions to ensure that they are well manicured. Here are some lovely pictures of some of our ladies showing their fine fingers.

It’s always nice to feel and look good.

World Cup excitement…..

Our lovely residents at St Peter’s have been having some keen discussions as to who they think is going to win the World Cup. At the same time, they have been undertaking some colouring to make some World Cup pictures. It’s early days in the tournament but we’re sure the conversations will become more animated the longer the tournament goes on. Who do you think will win?

A popular activity….

Anything arty or crafty always goes down well with the lovely residents of Balmore Country House. This week, in the spirit of all things gardening, they decided to make some plant pot collages. All their own designs and painting produced some lovely results.

It’s a great session for helping with engagement and concentration, as well as fine motor skill maintenance. There was lots of creativity on show and everyone had a great time.

Green fingers……

At Balmore Country House, we have several residents who are keen gardeners. They like nothing better than to tend to the seedlings and plants to make sure we have a great display in the garden this Summer. Gardening is a wonderfully calming activity for everyone and also requires concentration as well as some decent motor skills and, of course, green fingers! We’re looking forward to seeing everything once it’s fully grown.

Out on the town…..

Residents from both St Peter’s and The Ruddington braved the somewhat inclement recent weather and took a trip out to the White Horse Pub. It was lovely to see everyone in such good spirits, and there were plenty of laughs shared over a drink or two! Can’t wait for the next time!
