Like your style!

One of our lovely residents at Orchard House, Judy Muncey, helped out our hairdresser today. She used to work as a hairdresser and really misses the buzz of the salon. She was terrific and our ladies were more than happy with the finished results.

VE DAY Celebrations…

A terrific day was had by everyone at Orchard House yesterday as we celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The home looked really lovely – lots of flags and bunting – old posters from the time reminded us of the important messages that were given out to the public during wartime.

We had a great party and there was lots of laughter and everyone seemed to enjoy bouncing balloons off each other! Importantly we also took time to remember all those who gave their lives during the war – a reminder of the importance of peace. We hope you had a great VE Day.

A classic day out!

It was great to see the lovely residents of The Ruddington teaming up with residents from Balmore Country House last weekend and going on a trip to the Classic Car Show at Ruddington Park. The amazing cars on show prompted a lot of memories and we heard some fabulous stories about the cars our residents had owned, and ridden in, back in the day. Here are some of their favourites and some lovely pictures of everyone having a great day out!

A lovely trip out….

St Peter’s resident Rosamund, had a great trip out yesterday to the village market. Lots of stalls and plenty to see. Of course, you can’t go out to the market without stopping for coffee and cake! She thoroughly enjoyed her trip and is looking forward to the next one.

Getting Summer Ready!…

St Peter’s green fingered resident Richard, was doing what he loves best this weekend when he was out in the garden. He loves to help out around the home and getting the garden all ready for Summer is a job he really enjoys. This time he was working on the patio, but next week it might be the flower beds and pots. Whichever it is Richard always does a fantastic jjob and his efforts are really appreciated by everyone at the home.

A huge team effort!…..

Everyone at Orchard House was thrilled recently when the home was voted as one of the top 20 care homes in the East Midlands by carehome.co.uk, the leading review site for care homes. Of course, this was not down to the efforts of just one person, or even a few.

Everyone who works so hard at the home has played their part and made Orchard House a lovely place to live. Here you can see some pictures of just a few of our staff teams celebrating the award.

We will be making sure we continue to deliver great care for the people of Ruddington and the local area, and here’s hoping we receive some more awards….we’ll certainly be trying our best!

Happy Birthday Kathleen!…

We all love a Birthday at Balmore and what could be better than helping to celebrate a very special one.

Our lovely resident Kathleen turned 101 on Wednesday, and she certainly wanted to celebrate. Surrounded by balloons, cards, presents and, most importantly, loved ones she certainly enjoyed her day.

Kathleen is a lovely lady and wanted to thank everyone for making her day so special. Of course it goes without saying that her beautiful Birthday cake didn’t last long. Here’s to her next celebration!

Looking back at Pancake Day….

Residents at St Peter’s were delighted with the range of tasty toppings they were able to enjoy on Pancake Day.

There was lots of fruit and maple syrup, as well as lemon and sugar for those with more traditional tastes.

One thing everyone agreed on was the pancakes were wonderful….needless to say they didn’t last long!

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day……

There was more than a hint of green on display in The Ruddington last Monday, as our lovely residents got together to enjoy all the fun of St Patrick’s Day.

Shamrock plates and a lovely spread meant everyone was bale to get together and have a great time. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!
