Enjoying the Jubilee…

Our lovely residents at Orchard House thoroughly enjoyed themselves last weekend celebrating the platinum Jubilee. The home looked great with lots of bunting festooned around the lounges and dining areas.

Entertainment was great with concerts from singers over the weekend. Everyone enjoyed some fantastic food and wine, and there were more than a few toasts to Her Majesty.

We hope you enjoyed your Jubilee weekend as much as us. Our residents are rather hoping that they can have a Jubilee party every week!

Age no barrier…..

Our lovely resident Winnie doesn’t believe your age should be any barrier to having fun. She was determined to enjoy the Jubilee celebrations at the amazing age of 102!

She loved watching all the pageantry and pomp last week and thoroughly enjoyed all the entertainment and parties in Orchard House.

Here’s to more celebrations for Winnie in the future!

Jubilee photos…..

Here are some great pictures from Balmore Country House’ Jubilee party at the weekend. It was great that the weather was nice enough for us to be outside.

Everyone enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, and reminiscing about events over the last 70 years.

The smiles on everyone’s faces show just how much the day was enjoyed by all.

Working hard for the Jubilee….

The Jubilee might be over but we thought we would show you some pictures of just how hard our residents and staff worked to prepare St.Peter’s for the celebrations.

There was lots of creativity on display and the home looked fit for a Queen by the time everyone had finished.

Stay tuned for more pictures of our weekend fun, as part of the Ruddington Retirement Village celebrations.

Around our Village….

All our residents love living in Ruddington, and so they decided to start the Jubilee celebrations by enjoying a lovely afternoon at the Pub and having a look around the village last week.

They thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the decorations and flags that people had been busy putting up. A lovely start to what was a lovely weekend!

An entertaining start to the week…..

Last week has been amazing for our residents, who have been thoroughly enjoyed the build up to the Jubilee and the celebrations over the weekend.

The week started in great style with some terrific entertainment here at Orchard House thanks to a great concert from our singers. Lots of our residents joined in with the sing song and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Keeping fit at Balmore…..

Part of the care and support we give to our residents is to make sure they stay as fit and active as possible.

This is especially important for those who already have mobility issues. Which is why we hold regular armchair fitness sessions.

Turnout is usually really good and everyone enjoys being active. It’s amazing what a difference even the lightest exercise can bring, on top of which it’s great for engaging people’s minds and bringing a smile to their faces!

Marking International Whisky Day…..

Who doesn’t like a wee dram now and again. Our lovely residents at Balmore certainly do, and last week saw World Whisky Day. The purpose of the Day is to invite everyone to try a dram and celebrate the water of life.

Taking place annually on the third Saturday in May, this special occasion is celebrated by whisky lovers worldwide with tastings, events and gatherings.

Well needless to say it went down a treat here at Balmore!

Giving you choice in your life….

We all want choice in our lives, particularly about where and how we live. As we get older, many of us feel that choice is gradually taken away and we are left without options.

We believe The Ruddington Retirement Apartments offer you that choice in a range of different layouts and sizes and can provide you with a lovely home and community for your later years.

Constructed in the beautiful grounds of Balmore Country House, a short walk from the centre of Ruddington, our apartments come in a range of one-bedroom designs. You might be looking for an apartment just for yourself, or perhaps you are a couple who would like a little bit more space; whatever your circumstances, we believe we have an apartment that will suit you.

Our aim is to create a community where you can have privacy, dignity, and are able to do things for yourself should you want to. When you feel the need for help, we can provide that assistance.

This is important as we don’t want you to feel that you must fend for yourself on those occasions when that feels too much for you. We think it’s the best of both worlds.

Marking International Nurses Day…

We think our nurses here at Balmore do a fantastic job looking after our residents.

Of course they are not alone and so last week we celebrated Nurses everywhere as part of International Nurses Day. This is an international day observed around the world on 12 May each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society.

We hope you agree that all nurses deserve our thanks, and especially over the last two years or so. Where would we be without them!
