Enjoying the sunshine…..

With temperatures climbing and barely a cloud in the sky, our lovely residents at Orchard House decided to spend some time outdoors enjoying the Summer sunshine.

Orchard House is blessed with lovely gardens and outdoor sitting areas. Add a few parasols, some cooling drinks, and sparkling conversation and you have the perfect recipe for a great day outdoors!

Lots of fun….

That’s what Orchard House is all about, and to make sure our lovely residents enjoy themselves we put on a wide variety of entertainment with something to suit everyone. Recently we had a really fun singing duo complete with whacky costumes! They really got everyone laughing and joining in with the singing.

Lots of clapping and generally fun all round – a great session!

Enjoying a movie….

Here at St Peter’s there’s nothing our lovely residents like better than a good movie to enjoy. We had a pretty full house for our latest screening. Now it may be that everyone turned up for the movie, but of course the addition of popcorn and delicious hot dogs might also have been quite a draw.

Either way everyone had a great time!

Taking the air…

Here are some great pictures of our lovely resident Sheila taking a walk around the village, enjoying the beautiful weather. Sheila loves to get out and about, particularly when the weather is as nice as it is at the moment.

It also gave her chance to have an ice cream to cool her down, whilst taking a break in the shade.

Seems like the perfect trip to us!

A family outing….

Here’s a lovely picture of Mum and daughter residents at St Peter’s taking a trip out together to the village. They had a lovely time enjoying the sunshine, and it being a Saturday morning the village was busy and they bumped into lots of people whilst out and about.

A great way to start the weekend.

A Right Royal Occasion….

What a fabulous weekend we had at Balmore House, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We had a fantastic party with lots of food and drink – a brilliant buffet (thank you kitchen angels) and a right royal time was had by all.

Our lovely residents particularly liked having their pictures taking through our Union Jack frame and some of the more exotic crown hats that were worn.

There was lots of fun, loads of laughs and everyone finished the day wanting to do it all again!

Coffee and a catch up….

Our weekly coffee mornings at St Peter’s are always looked forward to by our lovely residents. It gives them the ideal opportunity for a natter and the chance to swap stories.

This week’s was well attended as usual. In fact if we left them to it we think our ladies would turn coffee morning into coffee day!

A great welcome….

Here are some lovely pictures of our new resident Glenys. She arrived at the home just in time to celebrate her 90th Birthday. Quite an achievement on her part and doesn’t she look great.

Glenys had a great day out with her family and enjoyed lots of presents and cards. She also had a lovely afternoon tea and Birthday Cake from our kitchen team, which she enjoyed with her fellow residents – the cake didn’t last long!

It’s great to have Glenys at St Peter’s and we are sure she will enjoy many more Birthdays to come!

Fun in the Sun!….

Here at Balmore Country House our lovely residents love nothing more than the opportunity to soak up some rays. This week’s good weather has provided them with just that! The sun has shone and temperatures have been high.

What better than to relax outdoors in our lovely garden and play a few gentle games at the same time. A gazebo to provide shade and plenty of drinks were the order of the day as everyone had lots of fun!

Getting Creative….

Balmore residents are a creative lot and whenever we hold our regular Arts and Crafts sessions they are always well attended.

The sessions are great for encouraging engagement and also good for hand eye coordination and keeping fine motor skills in tip top condition.

On top of that everyone finds them really relaxing and enjoyable – what could be better!
