Our lovely residents at Balmore love nothing better than the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy our wonderful gardens. Well this week the sun has shone bright and cool drinks and ice creams have certainly been the order of the day.

Everyone has enjoyed getting some fresh air and enjoying the garden, where they have found time to play some games.

Hold a pantomime in the middle of Summer that is! Oh no you didn’t we hear you say…well we have the photos to prove it!

Held outdoors and in the lovely sunshine, our Summer Panto went down a storm. We had a great audience who were encouraged to join in at every opportunity. It was a great afternoon, with a lot of laughter and fun.

Everyone has asked if it can be repeated later in the year…the answer – of course but probably indoors!!

Even though everyone’s focus has been on the Jubilee recently, it doesn’t mean that we have forgotten other forms of celebration, and in particular Birthdays!

We always like to make our residents feel special on their Birthdays and this last week has been no exception. Here are some great pictures of three of our lovely residents at Balmore Country House celebrating their special day recently.

They all got lots of cards and presents, and of course a specially baked cake courtesy of our kitchen angels. There were lots of smiles, the cakes didn’t last long and everyone had a great time.

For our residents, keeping cool in Summer heat is just as important as keeping warm in Winter. Here’s a graphic with some good tips on how to stay cool during the heatwave.

Of course try and enjoy the sunshine but it is just as important to utilise these tips and bits of advice so that you can make the most of the weather in the right ways.

We’re sure our residents will be doing just that!

Our lovely residents at Orchard House thoroughly enjoyed themselves last weekend celebrating the platinum Jubilee. The home looked great with lots of bunting festooned around the lounges and dining areas.

Entertainment was great with concerts from singers over the weekend. Everyone enjoyed some fantastic food and wine, and there were more than a few toasts to Her Majesty.

We hope you enjoyed your Jubilee weekend as much as us. Our residents are rather hoping that they can have a Jubilee party every week!

Our lovely resident Winnie doesn’t believe your age should be any barrier to having fun. She was determined to enjoy the Jubilee celebrations at the amazing age of 102!

She loved watching all the pageantry and pomp last week and thoroughly enjoyed all the entertainment and parties in Orchard House.

Here are some great pictures from Balmore Country House’ Jubilee party at the weekend. It was great that the weather was nice enough for us to be outside.

Everyone enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, and reminiscing about events over the last 70 years.

The smiles on everyone’s faces show just how much the day was enjoyed by all.

The Jubilee might be over but we thought we would show you some pictures of just how hard our residents and staff worked to prepare St.Peter’s for the celebrations.

There was lots of creativity on display and the home looked fit for a Queen by the time everyone had finished.

All our residents love living in Ruddington, and so they decided to start the Jubilee celebrations by enjoying a lovely afternoon at the Pub and having a look around the village last week.

They thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the decorations and flags that people had been busy putting up. A lovely start to what was a lovely weekend!

Last week has been amazing for our residents, who have been thoroughly enjoyed the build up to the Jubilee and the celebrations over the weekend.

The week started in great style with some terrific entertainment here at Orchard House thanks to a great concert from our singers. Lots of our residents joined in with the sing song and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
